It is that time of year
to sit and enjoy the change of seasons and catch a second breath,
while your spending a relaxing moment are you thinking about the
wonderful quilt that you would like to donate to the Small Quilt
Auction? Fall and winter is the perfect time to quilt because the
cooler weather is beginning to set in and there is a whole new pallet
of colors to work with.
Do you have a few
blocks that you decided not to make a large quilt with? How about a
hand quilting project that you have decided not to complete? In a few
short hours you could complete your UFO for the Small Quilt Auction.
We ask that your Small Quilts be no larger then 36” x 36”.
Have you enjoyed your
classes this year? We have fantastic teachers that are traveling all
over the state sharing their skills with us. Diane Magarelli shares
her skills with Tarantella, Fantastic Fabric Folded Flowers and Fabric
Postcards. Ann Kimble shares her skills with English Paper Piecing.
Dee Lynn will share her skills with Colorful Crayon Quilts. There are
many more new and exciting classes that you can find on our website or
listed in the Chatter.
Since the SQA is being
held in conjunction with the 2008 AQG Quilt Show your beautiful
donations will be on display from the time the Show opens at the
Preview Party on Thursday evening, until the Small Quilt Auction is
completed on Saturday. Hundreds of people will have an opportunity to
take home a quilt made by you, fabric art that will be shared with
generations to come.
The locations for
dropping off your quilt donations are posted below and we will keep
adding to the list. We will gladly accept your donation in person or
by mail at the Guild Office located at 2048 North 44th
Street, Suite 212, Phoenix, AZ 85008. We will also be accepting
donations at the Chapter Chair Meeting on February 2nd,
2008. Your donations should be dropped off or mailed to us so that it
reaches us by February 10th, 2008, in order to be included
in the SQA Program. We will still accept quilts up until the time of
the auction, but those quilts cannot be listed in the program because
of publishing deadlines.
We are eager to go
crazy over your donations, please send them soon! |
