Copper Country Quilters Jan Chapter Report

2016 is going out with a lot of happy quilters in Globe. We ended our year with our annual
Christmas Party at a local Mexican restaurant. If you are familiar with Globe you know we have the BEST Mexican food in AZ.

Member Jeanette B won the Christmas blocks that members bring to the party every year and had the completed quilt for us to see this year. Some years the blocks leave the party never to be seen again.

2017 will start with CCQ, along with the Copper Thimbles (Kearney) and Apache Sew and Sews (Apache Junction,) getting ready for the 2017 Spring meeting to be held in Globe.

Plan on coming for the meeting on Sat April 8th and staying over on Sunday to visit our annual Pieces of Friendship quilt show at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts. CVCA is a stop on the Historic Home and Building Tour which is April 8-9 from 9am to 3pm starting from the restored Train Depot in downtown Globe. This will be the last weekend of the Quilt show which opens on March 1, 2017.

We have a busy year scheduled including hosting Spring meeting guest speaker Laura Heine on Tuesday April 11, 2017 in Globe. We have a mystery quilt to finish, fabric challenges to start, guests to host, projects to share, community service projects, meetings to attend, road trips to go on and the list goes on.

Come and visit the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Monday of the month at First Christian Church on Broad St. 9:30—1:00.
