Mission Royale May Chatter Report

Mission Royale Quilt Group had a great year.  We started with a Shop Hop Trip in March by bus to Tucson and visited four quilt shops.  We were well received by all the shops and had fun finding new ideas and lovely fabrics.  This is something we all hope to do again next year.

Our charity group, Quilters of the Heart, had a very fulfilling year and produced 65 quilts for the following charity organizations:

  •     1 to Save our Students
  •     14 to Home of the Heart
  •     34 to Foster Care of Pinal County
  •     3 extra quilts waiting for Homes

We had many talented ladies among us from Canada as well as many states within the U.S.  Its been fun interacting with them and watching these beautiful quilts come together. One of our talented ladies from Calgary was kind enough to share her Bowl Potholder pattern and taught us all how to make them. Next year we hope to have more projects as a group effort.  Thank you to Marlene S.  We also had Traveling Teacher Darlene Miller come in and teach some of us the beautiful Radiant Sun Class.

The season has come and gone and we will miss our quilting friends who have left us for 6 months but are hoping for a more productive and fun season next year.
