December President’s Letter

Saturday, December 1st, 2018

Our Fall Meeting was a successful opportunity for some of us to get acquainted, meet new friends and share experiences. The meeting went smoothly, with the exception of a long serving time, but even with that the attendees managed to find things to talk about while waiting. We covered some material that for some was a review and most importantly revealed Dale Nokes as our Member of the year.
Unfortunately she was recovering from surgery and not able to attend, but it was video recorded and sent to her. She was very gracious in her acceptance. You can read all about the meeting in this Chatter.
I am writing this at Prested Hall, Feering, Essex, U. K., having come here for a wedding of an American young man who works with my husband to a beautiful British young lady. If you think of England as damp, foggy and rainy, that is what we are experiencing.
Fortunately, we know from past experience it can also be warm, bright and sunny. The hospitality of those who have provided accommodations and food is extremely kind and generous. The wedding was beautiful and we will return to “normal” tomorrow.
I am looking forward to our Quilt Show under the leadership of Darla Orndorff, who is proving to be quite a “find”. Her committee is mostly full and they are moving forward planning an another out-standing show.
It is such an honor to be leading AQG, working with many dedicated people and receiving encouragement for all of you.
Hope to meet more of you as we journey through the year together.
Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday season!
